If you ask anyone around the D & P offices who wears a multitude of hats, you’ll get a short list of answers. One of which will definitely be Mitchell Kirk. Mitch may technically have the title “Marketing Coordinator,” but at D & P, he’s a lot more than just that. He’s one of the leading experts on the billing system, a wealth of knowledge on both
residential and business services, and can decorate a bucket truck with Christmas lights with the best of them. He’s what many at D & P call our go-to guy.
Now we can get to know the guy whose versatility helps keep D & P Communications running as smoothly as possible.
When did you start at D & P?
I started working here in July of 2008.
What is your favorite part about working at D & P?
I like working for D & P because I feel that the work I do has a tremendous impact on the business.
The reason I went into marketing is because I love abstract problem solving, such as figuring out how to increase customers for D & P. Also, when we have a product like D & P Connect Pro, that can enhance the customer’s experience within the home, how do we best present that product to customers so that they can see the benefit.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love spending time with my family and I love coaching youth sports. I coach my son’s flag football, basketball, and
baseball teams. I am also on the Summerfield Recreation board because I feel that youth sports help kids learn how to deal with adversity that will prepare them for later in life.
Most memorable childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories I have is on Friday nights when my dad would work 2nd shift, I would go to my grandparents’ house. I can remember playing football in the house with my grandfather. He also is really into NASCAR and I had some “Matchbox” type NASCAR toys. We would race them down this track we made out of a bunch of yardsticks that we glued together. He would always start them with a baseball card and I would get to see the finish line to determine the winner.
